Families living in Van Alstyne and the surrounding area benefit from the presence of the Van Alstyne Independent School District, which comprises one high school, one junior high, one middle school, and two elementary schools.
Van Alstyne ISD has received an “A” rating in Student Achievement by the Texas Education Agency for the past 5+ years (except when ratings were paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic) and students consistently outperform the state average on STAAR exams as well as SAT and ACT scores.
Across the district, there are a wide variety of extra-curricular activities as well as leadership and service organizations available to students. Van Alstyne ISD also partners with Grayson County College to offer career certifications in programs including welding, cosmetology, HVAC, electrical, and EMT.
